Fresh spring flowers

My husband often eats his lunch while he is walking with his colleagues  throug the beautiful, old Ambtmanstuin (countryside garden - 1860, designed by K. G. Zocher ) in de city of Tiel.

Fresh sping flowers
Sometimes he takes pictures. So, I can share them here on my blog. Today he sent me two nice photos of fresh spring flowers. Red tulips and blue bellflowers (does anyone know the name of this blue flowers?).

I love old countryside gardens!

  1. Lovely photos your husband took, Jedidja. I don't know the name of the blue ones, but perhaps they are irises? They are very pretty.

  2. Very beautiful! They look like bluebells, but I will see if I can find out for sure. I love the spring flowers. Our area has had the daffodils and crocus, but we do not quite have tulips. soon, though!

    1. I like this color red. Originally they are cultivated in the Ottoman Empire (present-day Turkey), the tulips were imported into Holland in the sixteenth century.
