TODAY FLOWER #7 | Snowball's that don't melt

I love snow and so I am so glad with our Snowball Bushes (Viburnum plicatum) in Summer! I hope you also love this popular plant with masses of big white snowballs clusters. We had to irrigate them on warm days. Our bushes actually grow in the shade of an oak. This old tree takes a lot of water with its roots.

While I see beautiful pictures on the www I doubt. Is our plant a real Snowball Bush? There are so many types! I marvel at the creamy white color, the shape, the nerves of the leaves. So much beauty. A little piece of paradise on earth. In our garden. Thank you Lord, for all those beautiful flowers

  1. They are very pretty. I've always called them snowball bushes too as my grandmother did. : )
I have a couple in my yard but they only get a few blooms. I'm thinking maybe I should transplant to a better location.

  5. Thank you for your nice comment on Ocala (Florida). I think we have these bushes (I know we have viburnum) but I haven't heard the term "snow ball" bush. I like that. Makes me feel cool on these very hot days!

  12. When I saw the title of your post, before I saw your photos, I wondered what such never-melting snowballs could be. “Aha! Now I understand.”

The white color makes them look truly like snowballs. I am surprised at the many other different colors of these plants. Your flowering Snowball Bush is so beautiful it makes a good background for the lovely portrait of your daughter.

  20. Your Annabelle hydrangeas are so beautiful. They bloom in white at first and turn greenish after a certain period of blooming. Hydrangea likes water as “hydro” shows. In my country, it is the floral symbol of rainy season.
