Vintage Typewriter Love

On Saturday we've had the yearly flea market near our house. Five minutes walk. My husband and I go out every year to watch all that nice stuff. O and yes, I also saw the wonderful Dutch gardens along the street. Do you love this special rose with raindrops on it?

I bought an old-fashioned typewriter, made in Western Germany. Last year I decided not to buy it, although I liked it. The woman still had the typewriter and she asked five euro less. So I said yes to it. The typewriter was too heavy for me to carry and my husband picked it up, later, by bike.

Vintage typemachine

My father had such a typewriter in the seventies. I often went into his room to type stories. That was the beginning of my writing carriere, haha! This typewriter (Adler Gabriele 25) gets a special place in my writing room in the attic.

The kids love my vintage machine. But they also said it is very hard to use it. Typing on a such a typewriter requires more force than a computer, you know.

Ander vingeraanslag

  1. Prachtig die roos met regendruppels. Zo'n oude typemachine is best leuk.

  4. How wonderful you could buy it! The "old" was not so bad! I learned on the "old" kind which took more force to type. It looks in really good condition!

  12. What a beautiful rose. The typewriter reminds me when I was in high school. One of the requirements was that we had to type so many words a minute with minimum mistakes to pass our final. I passed :) Who knew that taking a typewriting course would be beneficial decades later when computers came about. Now you can start typing your book :)

  16. Ah, memories of typing, whiteout and the ring of the carriage return! Wish I had kept that old Royal just for the memories. I learned touch typing in high school and still find it hard to "hunt and peck" when I cannot put both hands down and just type by instinct.

I have never seen that kind of typewriter, I remember I wished I could use (♡^.^♡) And how special it must be along with the memories with your father.

  19. Oooh, zo tof zo'n ding!

  20. Hello!:) Your flower image is so beautiful, what a fabulous image with the raindrops. We still have our old Typewriter, and I'm pleased for you that you bought one at a good price.

  21. My mother's typewriter was a lot more vintage than that, but yes, we had a somewhat similar one to this in the 70s. TG for the computer where I can correct my load of typos ... althoguh I still miss some (see 'although' -- not typed on purpose but left on purpose).
