Interieur van Andreaskerk ⛪
De kerk bezit een romaanse zandstenen doopvont en dat is heel bijzonder. Ik probeerde er een foto van te maken en mijn man maakte op hetzelfde moment een foto van het interieur achter mij. Je ziet mij, twee orgels, veel stoelen en mooi lampen.
Scheve foto's of scheve kerk?
Het is heel moeilijk om de foto's mooi recht te krijgen. Ik vraag me af of mijn foto's scheef zijn of het gebouw.

Zoals je ziet was het doopfont heel groot en is het uit één stuk gehouwen (Bernheimer zandsteen) en wordt nog altijd gebruikt.

Het uiterlijk van de doopvont, rondom versierd met druivenranken verwijst naar de betekenis van de doop door haar analogie met het Evangelie volgens Johannes, hoofdstuk 15: 1-8: “Ik ben de Wijnstok, gij zijt de ranken”. Bron: Wikipedia.
Dikke Bijbels 📖
Hieronder dikke bijbels die ik zag liggen. De naam van de stad staat met mooie letters in het leer gedrukt: HATTEM.
Yes, gave schilderingen!
Ik zag veel wand - en plafondschilderingen. Daar houd ik van en maakte tientallen foto's zodat ik de sfeer een beetje kan herinneren, als ik ze opnieuw bekijk.

What a very lovely old building and wonderful church. I love that the baptismal font is still in use. Think about how many have been baptized there over the centuries!! How amazing that is! Regarding your question about "which old building has never left you?", I am having to think about that for a while. Perhaps the old church I grew up in. It had such beautiful stained glass windows of Jesus. One was Jesus the Good Shepherd, holding a lamb in His arms, and the other was Jesus in the Ascension, going up into the clouds. As a child I would sit and stare at those windows and wondered about Jesus and Who He was. Sadly, our congregation moved to a new building, and they actually took those windows with them and put them in the new building. But many years later there was a terrible fire, and the windows were destroyed in the fire, never to be seen again. I have searched and searched for pictures of those windows, and no one seems to have any. So they only exist in my memories. But I can still see them, and one day I will see Jesus face to face, and that will be far greater than any stained glass window could ever be. Thank you for your post. I enjoyed this, and the memories it brought up.

Thank you for sharing this experience, it has enriched my day in a beautiful way. Here in the Netherlands, there are several church windows depicting God or Jesus as the shepherd, for example in Gouda. There is a very old church there. Thank you for sharing your memory. I found it truly fascinating and beautiful, dear sister.

Beautiful structure. It is beautiful inside. I have to think about what structure has never left my mind, but think it would be our local theatre that was restored to keep it's beauty inside. Pretty much looks the same as when a child and we use to walk uptown (all the kids from the neighborhood) to watch movies. Back then they just played continuously so you could go anytime. Now it's not so much during the day and certain time slots at night. Thanks for sharing your visit with Pictorial Tuesday.
