Ik stapte op de fiets en reed naar het Binnenveld om schapen te zoeken. Vorig jaar schreef ik een blogje over de schapen die daar, vlak voor de lammertijd, over verschillende boerderijen verdeeld werden. En ik dacht: eens kijken of ze er weer zijn.

Ik fietste. En fietste. En fietste.
Ik zag schapen, ja... maar veel te ver weg. Niet te benaderen, hooguit te tellen met samengeknepen ogen. Ik maakte wel een foto (die van hierboven) en dacht: dit is het dan. Klaar. Naar huis.
Ik sloeg een zandpad in en daar stonden ze, vlak bij een metalen hek in de wei.

Het was koud, ja. Maar dat deed er even niet toe. Dit blogje is een herinnering aan dat moment. Aan onverwacht tòch nog vinden wat je zocht.

Sheep are fun to watch. I'm always interested to observe them in light of the many things the Bible says about sheep. I'm glad you finally found some after all that cycling.

I can talk to strangers easily, and I started talking to the shepherd:
How many sheep are there, why is one of them limping, why do some of them have red marks...? And he answered.
The GPS knew where I would feel comfortable and it was not a mistake but a joy.
I really enjoyed reading you and that you were finally able to take close-up pictures of the sheep.
I can feel what you must have felt there, because I felt the same way once.

OH, I love that you found the sheep, and that they seemed happy to see you, at least for a sheep! They certainly look nice and warm in their thick winter coats! We don't see sheep here where we live. I think it must be too hot for them in this part of our country. It's too hot for us too, although right now I am thankful for that warmth as the people to the north of us in our country are having a very serious winter storm this weekend, but where we live we are having warm, sunny, springlike weather...until next week, when winter cold temperatures will reach us again. Thankfully where we live we will not get the ice storm and snow that they are getting. I love that God directed you to find the sheep up close so you could share them with us! This was delightful!! Thank you.
