Zo’n moment waarop je eigenlijk door wilt fietsen maar je toch stopt. Waarom? Omdat het rijtje knotwilgen er er zoooo zielig uitziet.

Ik maakte foto’s van deze zielige wilg. In de berm lag een stukje wilgehout, dat stopte het in mijn fietstas. Ik vind het zo leuk om natuur-dingen mee te nemen als aandenken. Ik snoof eraan. Het ruikt niet zo lekker.
Beetje bitter zelfs.
Waarom ze in de winter snoeien?
Dan staat de sapstroom bijna stil. Snoeien veroorzaakt dan weinig stress: de boom “bloedt” niet en in het voorjaar reageert ie gewoon weer met nieuwe "sprieten op zijn kop"..jpeg)

Te vaak knotten maakt zwak
Ik las net dat knotwilgen eens in de 2 tot 4 jaar geknot, want dan zijn de takken dik genoeg om veilig te verwijderen.
Te vaak knotten → zwakke boom
Te lang niet knotten → te zware takken
Ik hou gewoon van knotwilgen. Daarom stopte ik even. Daarom schreef ik er een blogpost over. Knotwilgen zijn SUPERMOOI

You can imagine how beautiful the place is and we have walked along it several times.
The 450! lime trees are 300 years old and they need to be pruned from time to time, because they need to be protected and encouraged to continue living. If one of them dies, a new tree is immediately planted in its place on the avenue.
I like the Drago Pecenica quote because there is a parallel between human life and trees.
Yes, sometimes we are "pruned", but then we are renewed again. Such is life.
This is how our lives go on with our troubles and the desire to continue living.
I really like your post and the pictures about the reality of the life of trees.

This was such a beautiful post, Aritha. And yes, thinking about the pruning and wondering if it was the right time to do so or not...like times in our own lives, we wonder "Why now, Lord? Things were just getting so beautiful and perfect!" But God sees what we don't see, and He knows that pruning at that moment in time is actually for our best, so that we can grow stronger rather than weaker by living in just the beautiful and perfect moments of life. He is building strength in our limbs and trunks and our hearts, so that we are able to withstand the real storms of winter. This post really got us to thinking about deeper things...so that pruned willow has accomplished its mission! I do hope you will share pictures of it later in the springtime. Out and about recently I couldn't help but notice a lot of trees have been pollarded.

BeantwoordenVerwijderenHet heeft inderdaad iets sneus zoals ze geknot zijn. Maar inderdaad, ze groeien heel snel en goed terug. Wij hebben er twee in onze tuin staan en ik ben altijd weer onder de druk van hoe snel ze groeien. Ik wilde soms maar dat mijn haren zo snel groeiden als knotwilgen.
