Er was eens een mooie boomgaard vol appel- en perenbomen. Het was warm en ik zocht een beetje koelte in de schaduw.
Onder deze boom? Of toch onder die perenboom?

Ik liep verder en zag een boom die duidelijk al heel wat jaren meeging. Er stonden een paar mensen bij met fototoestellen. Wat zouden zij daar toch zien? Dus ik keek ook.
En toen: oh wow.Zie je het?
Allemaal vlinders!
Ik heb daar zeker een kwartier staan kijken. Ze vlogen af en aan en dronken sap uit de scheurtjes in de oude takken.
Overal dat vrolijke gefladder.
Ik had nog nooit zoiets gezien.

En hieronder zit er eentje gewoon op de stam van de fruitboom.
Prachtig toch?
Dat wilde ik even delen.
En kijk: het is me zelfs gelukt. Dat is op zichzelf al een klein gelukkie, want ons internet heeft al een paar dagen kuren. 😄

Oh, they are so beautiful!! They must've found exactly what they were looking for in that old pear tree and told all their friends to come join them for the party! How exciting to be able to witness that!! Thank you for sharing it with us!! This is their season, and they don't stay around long, so that was a lovey opportunity to witness. I looked it up and it is called a Red Admiral butterfly, and it "resides in warmer areas, but migrates north in spring and soemtimes again in autumn." (Wikipedia) It also drinks from flowering plants and overripe fruit!! There you go!! Perfect timing to see them!!

Zalig al die vlinders in de boom. Hier hebben we ook veel vlinders rond vliegen in onze boom dat vlinders lokt.
