A lovely post Aritha.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenI enjoy the transition from summer to Autumn ... one of my favourite times of year.
Have a happy and peaceful weekend.
All the best Jan
PS As always I enjoyed your photographs.
I always enjoy your photos! The acorns are falling here too. We have lots of oak trees and collect wheelbarrows full of them every year.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenI'm getting a blog post ready for next week with fungi. We have so many here this year. I've never seen tear fungus before, it's very interesting!
I like the temps this time of year, but dread knowing what is coming soon...
I love this time of year. Fall is my favorite season and the days leading up to it are a bit magical as we all make the transition.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenThank you for the nice photos.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenSeptember is a transition between summer and autumn, displaying characteristics of both seasons, though the signs of summer are still more prominent.
I too look for signs of autumn, and they are still rare: mostly colorful berries, or leaves changing color due to drought or disease.
I sometimes have autumn decorations in my apartmen: a few leaves, acorns or chestnuts. Chestnuts are the main ones. I often slip a few into my pocket while out for a walk. When I get home, I take them out and place them on the table.
They are a beautiful brown and so shiny...
Heerlijk, zo'n wandeling.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenThis summer to autumn season is very much a transition that takes time. Your walk in the forest shows so many lovely things - acorns and fungi! The fungi are beginning to show up here. Once we have a little rain more will come. I like to collect a few horse chestnuts when I'm out walking, but it's too early for them yet.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenI LOVE autumn, and it can't get here soon enough for me. However, where I live in Florida, we don't get a true autumn until much later. We don't have many colorful leaves here in this area, but the few maples we do have usually don't start dropping their leaves until later in late October or November or maybe even December. Depends a lot on how rainy it was in the summer, and here it has been very dry, so maybe they will fall early. I love to see the acorns and mushrooms, etc. We have a LOT of acorns in our yard because we have a lot of oak trees around us. Ours aren't the pretty leaf kind of oaks, however, but what is known as "Live Oaks" or "Water Oaks". They have smaller elongated leaves that just turn brown and fall to the ground and make a big mess! Not pretty at all, and the cause for a lot of raking and leaf blowing...that along with the millions of little acorns that get stuck in the soles of my shoes. So although I appreciate the shade of these giant mighty oaks, I don't appreciate their leaves and acorns so much! LOL. I love your pictures of autumn and walking in the woods. Thank you for sharing them with us here and on Facebook!! Have a lovely rest of your week.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenThis is my favorite time of years and, as always, you do it justice with your photos. When I was a girl we used to make candle-holders out of acorns and tiny hats for dolls.

It is a lovely time of year. Morning temperatures are starting to feel like fall, but the days are still abnormally hot. Yesterday it climbed to 25 degrees.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenThose are very interesting looking mushrooms.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenCute what you did with the leaf that had the two little holes that looked like eyes, and yes, I also think the leaf behind it does look likee Autumn colors.
