Delicate curly tulips

My publisher congratulated me with my newly published book by giving a beautiful bouquet of flowers. The biggest surprise were the two tulips in the bouquet. They've deeply feathered, curled, or twisted petals. Extremely flamboyant!


They open widely
On our world wide web I've read this: When this sort of very large tulips are exposed to sun over time, they open widely so that they almost flatten out (I hope to see that). They are very sensitive to cold, wet weather and should be planted in a protected spot. They grow to 18 to 22 inches tall!

    Hi Jedidja, Your tulip photos are quite amazing. Beautiful! I don't think I've seen that variety before and it is so cool.       Hi John, The Netherlands have a temperate maritime climate influenced by the North Sea and Atlantic Ocean, with cool summers and moderate winters. Daytime temperatures varies from 2°C-6°C in the winter and 17°C-20°C in the summer. I dont't know how the Irish climate is ...
