Ik heb hem eindelijk af.
Niet omdat ik ineens gedisciplineerd ben.
Niet omdat ik mezelf streng heb toegesproken.
Maar omdat er een eekhoorn op me lag te wachten.
Via Vinted kocht ik drie kleine diamond paintings en eentje daarvan is een eekhoorn. En ben dol op eekhoorntjes. Dus dat werkstuk dat al maanden “bijna af” was, moest ineens met spoed afgerond worden.
Het enige wat ik nog hoefde te doen was de laatste rij glow-in-the-dark steentjes leggen. EĂŠn rij. Dat was het hele drama.
Dus ik ging zitten.Plak, plak, plak. Diamondjes erop. Klaar.
En nu werk ik aan mijn eekhoorn, die helemaal gelukkig met me is.
Hoe zal ik hem noemen?
Eh... dit was dus geen plotselinge groei in discipline hè.
Ik wilde gewoon die eekhoorn

Dear Aritha, a resolution is often not enough if there is no desired goal and motivation. Discipline does not bring joy either, it is more of a compulsion. That's how I think, but you may have a different opinion.

I knitted when I was young, but I stopped because I had to dismantle what was ready many times (I couldn't knit well), and I regretted the time invested. It caused more stress than peace. So why should I do it?
