A Walk in the Forest

The forest is a little world on its own. I love it! Do you also love being in the forest? Utrechtse Heuvelrug National Park is a national park in my province. It is the second largest forest area in the Netherlands.

BIRDSONG AND SUNSHINE

There are more than 100 bird species living in the park, among which the black woodpecker, the raven and the bluethroat. We noticed a cacophony of birdsong above our heads. But we only saw a little blue tit.  And  how beautiful was winter sun shining between the tree branches.

WANDELEN

Ik denk dat we 5 km gewandeld hebben in dit mooie bosgebied, vlakbij huis. Even ademhalen.

Are you living near a forest?
Woon jij vlakbij een bos?

  2. Oh Yes, I love the forest, Aritha. Such a beautiful environment. I'm so glad you got to visit it recently. It's so peaceful with interesting things to see. Nature is wonderful, isn't it? No, I don't live near the forest, but I'm very close to the country roads, which I often visit. : )

  5. Beautiful shots. Looks like spring is getting there. We have a forest about two hours from here, it is called, Drumboe Woods. Shari and I went there back in October. We loved it. It has lovely smells, beautiful trees and a river that travels through the area.
    Have a wonderful weekend!

  7. We have a wooded area behind us and live in a very rural area to begin with so we see a lot of wildlife. I love to sit on our deck in the spring/summer and listen to the birds singing. Thank you for sharing your pictures...and I just noticed on your sidebar here your wedding picture. What a beautiful bride and a lovely couple!

  14. It looks so beautiful and calming there, and as spring advances, it will look even prettier. :)
I too love trees and our home is surrounded by them. I suppose it's more correct to call our nearby areas "woodland" than "forest", because they are used for silviculture. However, they contribute greatly to our well-being.
    Blessings and hugs!
