RED SQUIRREL CLIMBING A TREE

Red squirrel climbing the tree. Yes, squirrels are real acrobats and I love to see them. This one took a huge fir cone and started to eat high in the oak tree on a branch. How cute!

Ik ben dol op eekhoorntjes. Wat leuk om er eentje te zien. Hij had een enorme sparrenkegel vast met zijn tanden en klom razend snel langs de stam van de eik naar boven. Vandaar keek hij naar beneden.

FOREST THERAPY

How I love this ancient and wooded landscape with mysterieus forests. My husband and I enjoyed it. We walked and walked. And I took photos of a mushroom, a stream, beautiful moss and a fallen tree.

• About the Veluwe

Ik hou zo van de Veluwse bossen. Alleen de geur al. We hebben vorige week even gewandeld, voordat we gingen opwarmen in een restaurantje. Ik sta dan echt heel vaak stil om een foto te maken. Zoveel moois wil het allemaal meenemen.

Waar ik opgroeide had ik de bossen en de zandverstuiving vlakbij. In Kootwijk bijvoorbeeld. Maar ook in ons eigen dorp was er een (klein) bos: het Pastoriebos. Ik speelde er met mijn vriendinnetje, bouwde er hutten en klom in bomen. En in de winter, met strenge vorst, schaatsten we op het meertje. Vandaar de Engelse quote boven de foto.

A Walk in the Forest

The forest is a little world on its own. I love it! Do you also love being in the forest? Utrechtse Heuvelrug National Park is a national park in my province. It is the second largest forest area in the Netherlands.

BIRDSONG AND SUNSHINE

There are more than 100 bird species living in the park, among which the black woodpecker, the raven and the bluethroat. We noticed a cacophony of birdsong above our heads. But we only saw a little blue tit.  And  how beautiful was winter sun shining between the tree branches.

WANDELEN

Ik denk dat we 5 km gewandeld hebben in dit mooie bosgebied, vlakbij huis. Even ademhalen. De geur van naaldbomen. En wat liggen er nog een boel bomen op de bosbodem. Allemaal geveld in die zware storm, niet zo lang geleden. Fijn om er even tussenuit te zijn saampjes!

De vogels! En het zonlicht tussen de bomen door. En de schitteringen in het water (hieronder).

O, Sunny Day!

O, what a sunny day! But ... just today passed the sister of my mum surrounded by her husband and children. Australia is so far away from the Netherlands. Still praying for my uncle, cousins and nieces for strenght, hope and courage.

Ver weg
O, wat een zonnige dag. En wat een tegenstelling. Vanmorgen (Hollandse tijd) overleed mijn tante terwijl ze omringd werd door haar man en kinderen. Dan is Australië echt ver weg van Nederland. Ik bid voor sterkte, hoop en moed voor mijn familie ver weg.

 

Deze foto's maakt ik na het avond eten. Ik keek omhoog en zag dit vliegtuig. Zou niet weten uit welk land het komt en waar het naar toe gaat. De foto hieronder is onze eik. Ik nam hem vanuit mijn tuinstoel. We aten lekker buiten (hartige taart). Ook nog een foto van mezelf in de avondzon. Gave selfie :)

Eating in Backyard

These photos I made after dinner. I looked up and saw this plane. The picture below is our oak. Yes, above my head too. I also took a picture of my shadow in the evening sun ;) O, how I enjoyed the sun en the blue sky. We ate savory pie in our backyard; listening later to the wind blowing through the branches of our old oak.

Bees In Onchard

Springtime in De Betuwe! The Betuwe is an area in the Netherlands where you can see lot of fruit trees: apple, pear, plum and cherry. All of them with their own characteristic blossoms. And everywhere: hives in the orchards

 

 

 

Boomgaarden in de Betuwe

Als je iets anders wilt zien dan tulpen, ga dan eens naar de Betuwe. De boomgaarden staan in bloei. Zaterdag zijn mijn man en ik wezen toeren en het was zo mooi. Vooral toen de zon doorbrak. Prachtige bloesem en veel bijen! Er is jammer genoeg vorst in aantocht. Lees HIER meer.

Bird Houses

During my morning walk I saw this old oak with bird houses. I love old trees and I also love bird houses. So I took some photos.

Eik met vogelhuisjes
Tijdens mijn ochtendwandeling liep ik onder deze oude eik door. Opeens zag ik al die kastjes hangen. Ik vind oude bomen geweldig en ik houd ook van vogelhuisjes. Dus nam ik snel een foto.

 

 

 

Magic Tree on Misty Day

It is not all gray, gray on a misty day. Besides the factory tower you can see the sun, hurray! And an old tree  got thousand little lights around its branches. You can see the tree in both pictures.

Bleek zonnetje

Het is niet alleen maar grijs, grijs op een mistige dag. Naast de fabriekstoren zie je een bleek zonnetje. En die oude boom heeft duizend gouden lampjes om zijn takken gekregen. Als je lang kijkt zie je echt wel kleur op een mistige dag. Ik was in de bieb toen ik de foto nam.

I love this platanus orientalis

I love old trees! Especially the thought that so many people have seen this tree. Enjoyed new leaves, sheltered in the shade. This oriental plantain is really old. (Planted around 1850)

Ik houd van oude bomen! Vooral de gedachte dat zoveel mensen deze boom gezien hebben. Vol bewonderdinggeweest zijn, hebben genoten van nieuwe bladeren, geschuild in de schaduw. Deze oosterse plantaan is echt oud. (Geplant: Ca 1855)

Garden
In my view, this tree grows in the garden of the town hall in Tiel. My husband (he works there) sent me this pictures today with his  telephone. He knows that I love trees.

Volgens mij staat deze boom in de tuin van het gemeentehuis in Tiel. Mijn man (hij werkt daar) stuurde de foto's via zijn telefoon. Hij weet dat ik van oude bomen houd.
