Mijn rug doet het weer. En wat zag ik in het bos?
Langs het pad lag een dode boomstam waar van alles op groeide. Zwammen in allerlei vormen. En ik zag ook kleine grijsblauwe bolletjes op het hout. Geen idee wat het was.

Ik liep dichterbij, door de bruin bladerlaag. Vlak bij die bolletjes ontdekte ik toen een geel netwerk, datals fijne zenuwen over het hout kroop. Ik was echt verbaasd. Wat is dat?
Dus: foto’s maken. En thuis begon het uitzoeken. Mijn app wist het ook niet meteen. Pas later viel het kwartje: het hoort bij elkaar. Het bleek één en hetzelfde te zijn: een slijmzwam.

En hou jij nou niet van dat glibberige spul in het bos, dan heb ik nog een ander foto voor je: een slapend lieveheersbeestje in de uiterste top van een jonge naaldboom. Zie je hem?

BeantwoordenVerwijderenVery fascinating...the slime mold is really unique and unsual. I'm not sure I've seen anything like it here. For everything there is a purpose in God's creation! And the sleeping ladybug? How cute is that? I don't often see real ladybugs here, but we do have those Asian ones that look similar but are not the same thing at all, and I do not like them. They can get inside your house and build a little colony that comes out in winter and they slide down the walls and leave a yellow streak, and they bite! We had some in the last house we lived in. They had taken up residence while the house was vacant. It took us a while to get rid of them. Your nature post was very interesting as always! Thank you for sharing interesting things with us!

BeantwoordenVerwijderenDear Aritha, we went for a walk to a nearby lake not long ago. I saw a lot of weeds there that I didn't know the names of.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenYou were able to look up at home afterwards what those "yellow-orange veins" were, but I didn't have the opportunity to do so there.
Next time I'm going to the lake with a plant identifier to find out the names of those "things" that are so beautiful despite being dry weeds.:)
I'm glad your back doesn't hurt anymore and that you were able to see a ladybug that I saw so long ago.

I am so glad your back is doing well. Slime mold is fascinating, the way it creeps and grows. There is a slime mold I see in the woods called Dog Vomit Mold (fuligo septico) that really stands out in the woods because of its bright colour.

Hoewel mijn voorkeur uitgaat naar het slapende lieveheersbeestje, vind ik het andere zeker wel heel erg mooi en bijzonder.
