Today my husband sent me some pictures out of the city of Tiel. The nineteenth century gate on the first photo was originally the entrance to th Synagogue. This entrance is now a Jewish monument and commemorates the Jewish population of Tiel, that perished in the second world war. You can see a cloud with raindrops, made of gold-plated aluminum and steel. In the cloud is a hand, pointing to the Hebrew letters forming the word "Yizkor": It will be remembered.
En dit nooit meer
Vandaag stuurde mijn man me een paar foto's van het Joods monument in Tiel. Een wolk van tranen. In een paar druppels zitten luidsprekers, waaruit overdag continu de namen van de uit Tiel afkomstige, in de Tweede Wereldoorlog vermoorde Joodse inwoners klinken. Naast hun namen en de namen van de concentratiekampen waar zij vermoord zijn, klinkt in alle talen die in Tiel gesproken worden: "En dit nooit meer". (Bron: Wikipedia).

I notice that the gilded cloud is missing on photo above. That is why I placed the picture below. Some of the drops includes small megaphones. During the day you can hear the names of the murdered Jewish people. In addition to their names, repeats in all languages spoken in Tiel: 'IK ZEG U: DIT NOOIT WEER' (and never again). Only this wall gate is still there. Behind it is a mosque
