I love this platanus orientalis

I love old trees! Especially the thought that so many people have seen this tree. Enjoyed new leaves, sheltered in the shade. This oriental plantain is really old. (Planted around 1850)

(Geplant: Ca 1855)

Trunk Circumference: 4.52 meter

Garden
In my view, this tree grows in the garden of the town hall in Tiel. My husband (he works there) sent me this pictures today with his  telephone. He knows that I love trees.

Volgens mij staat deze boom in de tuin van het gemeentehuis in Tiel. Mijn man (hij werkt daar) stuurde de foto's via zijn telefoon. Hij weet dat ik van oude bomen houd.

Plantanus Orientalis

Trees have their seasons at certain times of the year when they bring forth fruit; but a Christian is for all seasons.

  9. Hi Jedidja, I really like this post! You know, I saw a big, big tree on my walk yesterday, but it is so hard to get a really good picture of a big tree. Your husband's photo is excellent! Thank you for sharing your blog and for your kind comments on mine. Hope you have a fine week ahead!

  13. It is a beautiful old tree! We have many old oak trees where I live and our city has laws about cutting them down. You must be approved and get a permit.

  14. How lovely, a magnificent old tree. We used to have a large tree in our neighborhood that a Confederate general supposedly rested under, but it was cut down years ago due to it being so close to the owner's house. I was very sorry to see it go but obviously safety comes first. Long may that old tree in your photos remain healthy and strong :)

    1. Sometimes arise disputes between neighbors because one wants to keep trees and the other wants them cut down :( Some old trees are protected here by the government. Yes, sometimes we feel sad about it ... but safety is very important.

  17. I have always loved trees. I did a science project on trees when I was in school. Love the shapes of trees and the shape of their leaves. The bare tree in the winter is as lovely as the summer tree with it's foliage! To me, that is!
