Under Dutch Skies

I really love our beautiful skies. The great cumulus clouds inspired many famous Dutch painters. Do you understand why? In the picture you can see a small boat on the water of the Biesbosch. The Biesbosch ('forest of sedges') is one of the largest national parks of the Netherlands and one of the last extensive areas of freshwater tidal wetlands in Northwestern Europe.

    Bon week-end!

  8. Love those clouds and yes, they would make great subjects for Dutch painters. I checked the link on "line-crossing." Very interesting. I'm a WWII buff and there's so much I don't know so I appreciated that.

  9. You know how much I love sky fotos....the blues and fluffy white clouds are the same all over the world! Thanks so much for linking up. You asked about the little chipmunk....it is also called a ground squirrel because it borrows tunnels under the ground...we have holes all over the back yard. They're cute, but also very mean. ๐Ÿ˜ข

  14. Those clouds are so fluffy, and from this post I am thinking bosch means forest; Harry Bosch is the name of a favorite fictional detective. His first name is Heironymous (sp.?), after the famous painter.

  16. Beautiful fluffy clouds and blue skies. I've just come back from a holiday in the UK where I visited a Rembrandt exhibition. I learnt all about the connection between Holland and Hull, the city where I was born.
