Happy Day | Good Fences #7

Both, son and daughter graduated with flying colours! Doubly grateful. Happy day for us. I thought I had no picture for Good Fences :-) But this one is also nice for it. I hope you like our wrought iron gate, without dangerous sharp points.

Always putting the flag out, hanging the schoolbag(s) on the pole. It's a sign that somebody have passed their school exams (5 in our street).

  9. Two you can be proud of. And the two photos, also, you can be proud of. I noticed the tile roof in the back right and remembered a post I did on Japanese tile roofs. But the Dutch were making S-shaped pantile roofs centuries earlier than the Japanese. Considering that there was a Dutch presence in Japan (<—een link naar Nederlandse Wiki artikel) at the time the Japanese developed their own S-shaped pantiles, one wonders if the Japanese based the design on the older Dutch tiles.

  10. congratulations to both of your children! how wonderful.

you asked about the small house i posted. in america, there has been a trend to down-size into tiny houses to minimize expenses and live with less 'stuff'. i'm not sure if this will be their permanent residence or if they will eventually build a larger home on the site, but i believe two people live there now.
