Westkapelle is a small city on the island Walcheren, in the province Zeeland of the Netherlands. It is on the westernmost tip of Walcheren and is surrounded by the sea on three sides.
Tweede kerstdag gingen we op familiebezoek. Het was heel erg gezellig. We aten Chinees eten en er was ook patat voor de kleintjes.
Voordat de zon onderging reden we nog gauw even naar de dijk om de zee te zien. Prachtig! Die kleuren en al die boten op zee. Het was er wel guur hoor, daar onder aan de dijk (Westkapelle)

You're right that kapelle means chapel. Maybe a chapel was built first, before there was a settlement. Westkapelle may have been founded in the time of the Vikings. The local dialect contains accents that can also be heard among Scandinavian people. Thanks for your new year wish DUTA.
