Eind maart zag ik haar in het bos. Alsof ze er thuishoorde. Een dikke kat. Ik zette haar in mijn blog. En meteen kwamen er reacties over haar (vrij vertaald):
“Is ze verdwaald?”
“Arm beestje, heeft ze geen baasje?”
Maar nee hoor. Mijn man sprak — via via via via — met het baasje zelf. Deze kat is echt niet verdwaald. Ze is gewoon zelfstandig. Ze woont in de buurt en wandelt graag haar eigen rondje door het groen.
Het baasje stuurde me foto’s
Wit lijf, zacht oranje oren, snuit en staart. Bospoes in volle glorie.
Ze hóórt daar gewoon.
Alsof het haar bos is.
Steeds als ik daar wandel kijk ik goed om me heen.
Wie weet zie ik haar nog een keer.
Wat voor soort poes zou jouw leven stilletjes kunnen binnenwandelen — en mogen blijven
Wat een geweldig baasje die zijn poes zo haar vrijheid gunt. Een heerlijk leventje lijkt het me. Hoewel ik wel vrees voor vossen en dergelijke. Wij zijn zo 5 poezen verloren.

BeantwoordenVerwijderenOh, she looks so much like our "Sunshine", one of the two cats that I have inherited from my neighbor, who could no longer feed them due to her poor health. They are both outdoor cats, (Blackie and Sunshine) but they are very sweet natured and they have walked into my life and have given me many reasons to smile. They would love to come inside and be indoor kitties, but our house is not very cat-ready. I would need to remove a LOT of things that are up high and all around, as they love to climb and jump and explore. Plus, my hubby is not ready for cats in the house either. He is just barely getting used to them being here at all, so it is a slow progression of worming their way into our lives and home. But they are happy here and I have become rather attached in a short time. They do like their freedom so that they can roam through the woods at night also. But the rest of the time they are lazy and sleeping on our porch overlooking the pond, where they can watch the birds and cranes and ducks. I'm okay as long as they don't start trying to catch and kill the birds. that would not be nice. So far they haven't.
