SUNRISE ON A MISTY MORNING

This is my Dutch sunrise. Mist in the air. I can smell the farm fields. I was here on Monday; walking and waiting for the light.

Ik hou van zonsopkomst in dit seizoen. En terwijl ik daar liep, in dat natte weiland, herinnerde ik me het weiland uit mijn jeugd. Hoe ik daar liep en sporen maakte in het natte gras. Het komt nooit meer terug maar de herinneringen koester ik.

BEAUTIFUL MORNING WITH RAINBOW CLOUD

Weet je hoe vroeg de zon opkomt? Ik wel. En ik had de tijd om naar mijn lievelingsplek te fietsen. Zo mooi om daar de zon “wakker” te zien worden. Om te genieten van de prachtige details in de vrije natuur.

Do you know your local time for sunrise?  I do it was 7:54.  I took the time to cycle to my favorite place. So beautiful to see how the sun awakes. It was an amazing sunrise. Good to enjoy the beautiful details of nature.

Opeens zag ik een heldere plek in het water van de sloot (foto hieronder).  Niet van de zon, dacht ik. Ik liep erheen en keek omhoog naar de lucht. Daar zag een stukje iriserende wolk. Ik heb er foto's van gemaakt om thuis te laten zien. Zo verrassend! Elke keer is er weer wat nieuw te zien in de natuur.

Suddenly I saw a clear spot in the water of the ditch. That could not be the sun, I thought. So I looked up at the sky and  saw a small iridescent cloud. You know: a cloud with rainbow colors. Surprising. I made some pictures to show later all that beauty to my husband.

FARM DITCHES AND MALLARDS

Biking on early winter morning. Yes, riding a bike over icy roads is a bit tough 😬. But early in the morning I looked up to the sky. It was still dark. I saw some stars "twinkling" in the crystal clear sky. Changing from red to white to blue repeatedly. Amazing. That was the moment I say to myself: you have to see the sunrise!

Even een frisse neus halen. Maar oooh, wat was het glad op sommige weggetjes. Na grijze dagen wilde ik graag een mooie zonsopkomst zien. Toen ik mijn zoon uit bed geroepen had, keek ik door het keukenraam naar buiten. Het was vroeg. Ik zag een paar sterren pinkelen aan de heldere ochtendhemel. Toen besloot ik dat ik zou gaan. Gewoon het Binnenveld in fietsen om de zon op te zien komen. Ik moest er een uurtje voor wachten -  het was nog te vroeg -  maar het was de moeite waard.

SWAN WALKING ACROSS ICE

In the early morning I saw this swan walking across ice on a frozen pond during a colorful winter sunrise. I have more pictures but my son chose this as the best swan picture.

Deze zwaan was zich aan het oppoetsen op het ijs. Het was een geweldig gezicht. Koud, te koud om foto's te maken. Mijn vingers bevroren bijna. Maar hoe mooi was het!

WINTER SUNRISE

Beautiful, beautiful world! Today I experienced such an amazing sunrise over the frozen meadows. I parked my bike against an old tree and discovered a new walking path along the water. And a nice picnic table!

Mooi, mooi, mooi! Wat een prachtige natuur! Ik heb me staan verwonderen over de glinsterende winterpracht om me heen. Geweldige start van de dag. Zoals iemand zei op mijn Instagram (Henny): "Ja, daar sta je dan als mens...te genieten van die wondervolle schoonheid!

Ik heb nog veel meer foto's. Die wil ik ook graag delen. Maar niet te veel in één keer. Dit plekje had ik nog niet ontdekt. Als het warmer wordt wil ik hier nog een keer heen met een vriendin of met mijn man. Brood mee en lekker kletsen. Of genieten van de natuur. Of allebei.

I have taken more photos. I'll share them later. I like the picnic table! When spring arrives, I want to have lunch here with my husband or one of my friends. This is the best picnic spot 😍

The ice wasn't thick enough. I could not stand on it. My boots were cracking through it. But I made some pics. Do you also love the sound of cracking ice?

Als kind probeerde ik altijd het ijs van de sloot voor ons huis uit. Hoe vaak ik niet met natte sokken thuis kwam... Mijn moeder boos natuurlijk. Dat gevoel kwam terug toen ik keek hoe dik het ijs was. Het water was in ieder geval niet diep. En het kraken... leuk!

Terug naar huis!

SUNRISE THROUGH REEDS

Early in the morning I cycled on a quiet country road, looking for a place to see the sun rise over the frozen meadows. It was so breathtaking! And cold, yes, because it was freezing!

Plaatjes van vorige week toen ik vroeg in de morgen het dorp uitfietste om de zon op te zien komen boven de bevroren weilanden. Het was maar tien minuten voor de fietsen. Waarom doe ik dat toch niet vaker? Het is zo mooi! En ja hoor, ik was er precies vijf minuten voordat de zon opkwam. Gaaf!

On my way home I passed the beautiful golden reeds along the roadside. The water below me in the ditch looked drab but how stunning the color of the reeds in the warm red light!

Op de terugweg kwam ik langs het riet dat mooi stond te wezen met hun wortels in een drabberig zwart water. Heel mooi zoals het gouden zonlicht er door heen speelde!
