The fruitcorso is a yearly event. Apples, pears, nuts, seeds, peppers and grapes; they all are part of the parade, that on the third weekend of September drive through the streets of Tiel. Designed and built by people from the Betuwe (and the land of Maas and Waal). My husband made some pics with his Phone during his lunch break. The purpose of the parade is: promoting Dutch (Betuws) fruit and vegetables.
I only show the old Dutch women. Titel/title: Oude besjes
Ontwerpers / designers: Dennis Voorendt en Jochem Schoots

DUTCH BUTTERFLIES.

Today I share summer photos of our garden. I tried to photograph the white butterflies on our lavender. I think you aren't surprised when I tell you how difficult it can be to capture the most beautiful (and constantly moving) insects 😊

BLURRY

I could not get close to the lavender bushes. So, I had to zoom in and that made the photos a bit blurry

I just cycled to a butterfly bush along the roadside. My husband had pointed me to that bush; he had seen many, many butterflies on it. I saw the bush with its masses of blossoms. Wonderful. Do you love the  butterfly-bushes? It provides nectar to adult butterflies. This sort (below) is naturalized in most cities of central and southern Europe, where it can spread on open lands and in gardens.

VLINDERSTRUIK

I also saw large bumblebees and busy bees. Fortunately, they only paid attention to the flowers! I shall show them later.

WHITE CLOUDS ABOVE THE RIVER

My husband sent me new pics out of the town of Tiel (founded in the 5th century AD). This town is enclosed by the Waal river and the Linge river on the south and the north side, and the Amsterdam-Rhine Canal on the east side.

On the pics you see the Waal river.

CHRISTMAS CACTUS AND GIVE AWAY

Tuesday I opened the curtains of my writing room, and LOOK: my beautiful plant is blooming! I had forgotten to give it water for two weeks and yet this plant is full with little pink flowers! 😊

Toch bloeit ie.

GIVE AWAY

Saturday, November 18th is my 50th birthday. That's why I'm organizing a simple Give Away. You can join by commenting on my other blog: HERE. If you live outside the Netherlands you could choose number 3: A personal surprise in an envelope. Or the Dutch agenda.

Friday Foto Friends

I haven't shared many frozen moments last weeks. I am struggling for one and a half week with shingles. It is painful and very uncomfortable. I have little energy now, headache and a lot of pain in the inflamed skin and nerves.

Gordelroos

I think I've got shingles because of my low resistance. I'm recovering from a eating disorder. I'm learning to eat (more) again. Two months ago I chose to ask for help. A specialized dietician and a psychologist are helping me now a bit.

But still I love to share some photos 💗

Wij allemaal toch?

1. I love adding a little magic to my dark livingroom in autumn and winter. So I was very suprised when my daughter came home out school and gave me this nice light chain.

Lampjessnoer

2. I won a giveaway via Lieneke's blog. A Dutch book The booklet is focusing on the fact that you are loved. It is so important to know that you are fully accepted. The starting point of the author is the love of God in Jesus Christ. I'll start reading today!

Boek gewonnen

3. My husband is very busy the last weeks. He is a construction engineer. In the Netherlands a parking garage collapsed, caused by a construction error. You can read here more: LINK Now many buildings in our country must be checked very carefully! Yesterday my husband went to a seminar in Heerlen. This theme was also discussed. When he got home he gave me this mug from Heerlen. There are several buildings on the mug. I love it.

Mijn man had een studiedag in Heerlen.

4. It is time to knit. I enjoy the beautiful colors of  my Louisa Harding yarn. I love it so much. But I'm slow when it comes to figuring out a knitting pattern. I love writing and reading more than knitting you know. Still, I like to knit a bit in the dark season.

Breien!

How was your week?
Was er deze week iets leuks?
