Purple Crocus Blanket

A stunning purple crocus blanket. Yes, spring is on it's way. Do you also love this flowers? They open wide to the sun. Magnificent splash of colour! I also saw two (!!!) yellow crocus flowers and some pink ones. Take a look

Lila tapijt

Windmill In The Snow

Today it was a snowy day and I walked to the mill. I absolutely love this mill because I can see this one out of my window. I asked if I could visit in the mill to take pictures of our village. I got permission but I had to be careful because it was a bit dangerous!

Molen in sneeuw

It was indeed cold and slippery. Quickly I made some pictures.  Do you see the penguins in the picture below the sepia one? That's my home and ... they are standing on my writing room :)

Mijn huis

I went downstairs and put a few euros in the tip jar. So grateful that I was allowed to make pictures. Outside I saw the miller. He was trying to fix the sail on the mill blades. Dangerous and cold up there in the windmill blade. But he succeeded!

Bewondering! Koud en gevaarlijk daarboven. Het lukte hem!

Hieronder een video van de molen.

Sunrise Over the Rooftops.

I'm in my attic. This is the room where I write my books and stories on Tuesday and Friday. Today I am here to look for the sunrise over the rooftops.

Zonsopkomst

Do you see the sun reflecting on one of my globes?

Hanging out the window to take a picture ;-)

This church you can see in Pic 2 too

My street: houses with a front fence

I saw the sunrise over the rooftops. And in Pic 3 you can see that all house have a front fence. I like to share this photo with you. I am also joining Good Fences. I love garden fences. But now ... it's time for my coffee and rice cracker with cheese (Dutch cheese with chilli, tarragon and flaxseed). Lekker = Delicious

Koffietijd
Verrassende smaak. Erg lekker.

Have a nice day everyone!

Snowy Friday in the Netherlands

I thought I'd share some of my Friday photos to brighten up your day. Last night it snowed here in mid of the Netherlands. I was afraid to cycle so I walked to the fitness center this morning. And  on my way I took some pictures, also from our canal. This  canal is very new. And ... there are goldfishes in it :-)

Oh yes, our canal. I took a photo for my blog

Veenendaalse Gracht

... and now it's getting dark again

Happy Friday!
Fijne vrijdagavond!

The First Snow

Did you know there are flowers that bloom in the winter? I saw beautiful yellow flowers near the mill. Too chilly to take pictures but I tried it. Do you see the glazed frost on the petals?

When the sky is beautiful blue, I can make better mill photos. Today the sky was overcast and greyish white. But I enjoyed the walk and I love the sound of snow under my shoes.

After ten minutes I went back home. I saw the small houses with the willows. A woman walked with a bag full bottles to the bottle bank. An umbrella for the sleet. I also noticed a very cool car in our street.

Cool car

Our New Mill

It was hard to make beautiful pictures of the towermill. The blades of the windmill stood in the wrong direction. If the wind direction changes, the miller will rotate the cap to bring the sails into the wind. I am waiting for it. Saterday I took some pictures with special details.

We have two mills in our village.
This is the mill we can see out of our window.
