HEARTWARMING BABY PHOTOS

O, mijn computer staat vol foto's maar soms kom ik er niet aan toe om een leuke blog te schrijven omdat er andere prioriteiten zijn, zoals oppassen, een ziekenhuisbezoekje, een douche schrobben, studeren, een lezing bijwonen, een boswandeling, kletsen met mijn man en nog veel meer.

Vandaag laat ik drie foto's zien, die ik van mijn kleindochter maakte.
Ze is zo lief 💗

There were many other priorities this week: babysitting, a hospital visit, scrubbing a bathroom, studying, attending a lecture, a forest walk, chatting with my husband and much more.

Today, my husband and I have been married for 29 years.

Vandaag zijn mijn man en ik 29 jaar getrouwd. Wat een tijd. Wat hebben we veel meegemaakt samen. Ik had als verrassing een lunch geregeld bij Kees & Sien. Het was echt heel leuk om zo samen te vieren. Dankbaar en blij.

HOW TALL IS THE SUNFLOWER?

Bij mijn zus en zwager in de tuin staat de meest hoge zonnebloemen die ik ook ik gezien heb: 3,70 meter hoog. Om de zonnebloem op te binden was de huishoudtrap te kort en moest mijn zwager een ladder gebruiken. Heb jij ooit zo'n hoge zonnebloem gezien?

In the garden of my sister and brother in law you can find the most high sunflowers I have ever seen:3,70 ( I think that is 12ft ?) My brother in law used a ladder to tie the stem firmly.

Ik kreeg deze foto's van mijn zus om te delen op mijn blog. De zonnebloem kreeg een halve emmer water per dag. Plus speciale voeding: turbovoeding via Huyskweker. De meststoffen zijn samengesteld uit onmisbare voedingselementen. Dit geeft de zonnebloemen kracht om moeiteloos door te bloeien tot het najaar.

I got these photos from my sister to share on my blog. They gave the sunflowers half a bucket of water a day. And special Plant Food. Have you ever seen such a tall sunflower?

GREETINGS FROM VALENCIA

Onze dochter is weer veilig terug uit Spanje. Ze was daar een week. En iedere dag stuurde ze mooie foto's van zichzelf en al het culturele moois uit Valencia.

Our daughter is safely back from Spain. She was there for a week. And every day she sent beautiful pictures of herself and all the cultural beauty of Valencia.

Ik kreeg een prachtige flamenco waaier als souvenir, om af te koelen op warme dagen. Met de tropische warmte, die op komst is ben ik daar heel blij mee.

I got a beautiful Spanish fan (hand painted). What a great souvenir. I am very happy with it; there is tropical warmth coming and now I can  stay cool in the heatwave.

Drie dagen achter elkaar. Zo leuk om het proces  van deze tweede zonnebloem te volgen. Iedere keer is het weer een verrassing om te zien hoe ver de blaadjes open gaan.

Three days in a row. Every morning this second sunflower surprised me. I show you three photos from the entire process. The last one was early this morning.

These flowers are not large. I made a photo with my hand next to the sunflower. Not huge but still beautiful.

Ik maakte zonet een foto van de zonnebloem met mijn hand erbij. Vaak zie je van die grote zonnebloemen met wiegende koppen. Deze is echter klein. Maar wel mooi toch?

BLIJE WEEK

Deze week was gedeeltelijk een blije week. Onze oudste dochter (27) ondertekende namelijk haar diploma. Ze is nu verpleegkundige. Een knappe prestatie omdat ze dit deels deed terwijl ze werkte en daarnaast ook de zorg had voor haar zoontje en partner.  Ik ben zo blij dat het haar  gelukt is.

Our oldest daughter signed her diploma. She is a nurse now. 👩‍⚕️  I'm very proud of her because she had to combine (? good English word?)  this study with her work as a nurse and the care for her small family. Well done!

GOOD BYE

This week I also said goodbye to another daughter. She lives in a bus (LT35) with her partner and they love travelling. Today they are traveling south...

How was your week?

SUMMER BIRTHDAYS ARE THE BEST

Vandaag is het een blijde zomerdag. De lucht is blauw, de mussen tjilpen in de tuin. Er staat een frisse wind. En in onze tuin wappert de vlaggenlijn. Want onze jongste dochter is vandaag jarig. Ze is nu 19 jaar! Wat is het al weer lang geleden dat ik haar voor het eerst in mijn armen sloot. En in mijn hart. Snel gaat de tijd. 

What a beautiful summer day. The sky is so blue, the sparrows chirp in the garden. I hung garlands in the living room and I in the back yard. Because it is our daughter's birthday. Summer birthdays are the best. Moniek (Monica Deborah) is 19 now

Thank You So Very Much! Just wanted to say: THANK YOU for finding time to give the right words of heartfelt condolences here. It gave me courage and strength.

Ik kan jullie niet allemaal persoonlijk bedanken voor jullie hartelijke woorden op mijn bericht.  Daarom deze bloemengroet uit eigen tuin. Dank je wel voor jullie oprechte condoleanties. Ze gaven we moed en kracht. 

Ik vond het erg fijn.

MY FATHER DIED

Last Wednesday my old father died after a one-year illness (esophageal cancer). Today was the funeral. Now we are home again. I feel deeply sad. The person who has been in my life since the very beginning is gone.

Papa, you were faithful. You fought the fight, finished the race and kept the faith. (2 Timothy 4:7)

Vorige woensdag stierf mijn vader. Hij had slokdarmkanker. Het is een vreemde,  verdrietige (en toch goede) week geweest. Mijn vader stelde zelf zijn rouwkaart op en gaf ons deze Bijbeltekst mee: "Want deze God is onze God eeuwiglijk en altoos." Ik ben heel verdrietig maar niet als iemand die helemaal geen hoop heeft. Ik zal hem terug zien en dat bemoedigt me.
